My father who is 44 has been recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. I believe its at stage 3. Anyway, I was trying to find a diet for stomach cancer patients who have just started chemotherapy but I’m not getting to many results. Mostly everything I found had to do with diets for patients who have had surgery (removal of part of the stomach). Does anybody know of any websites or resources which aptly describe a diet

for recent stomach cancer patients?

high protein nutritious food in small frequent feeds and try to make it as tasty as you can or at least the way he likes it. Other foods can also be taken in moderation with a balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. As far as snack recommendations, we advise eating slowly and small, frequent snacks that are balanced in protein and carbohydrates. Eating these between meals can be helpful to maintain satiety and nutrition

These snacks include:

  • Two tablespoons of natural peanut butter on banana slices
  • Guacamole with trans-fat free crackers or pita chips
  • Greek yogurt (any flavor) plus one cup ripe of melon
  • Graham crackers with natural peanut butter
